Al Ahly: Badr Benoun to Participate in Training After Minor Ankle Injury

Al Ahly football director Sayed Abdel Hafeez revealed Wednesday the extent of the injury sustained by the team's defender Badr Benoun, only 48 hours before the opening match of the Club World Cup.

Abdel Hafeez said, in statements to the Red Castle's official website, "Benoun had suffered a slight bruise in the ankle during his participation in the team's training session on Tuesday,"

"The player underwent a thorough medical examination, and it was found that his injury is minor, and he will be present naturally for the Red Devils main training session, Wednesday."

Al Ahly channel affirmed that the team's technical staff, led by South African Pitso Mosimane, preferred that the player takes some rest and not to complete Tuesday's training to avoid aggravating the injury.

Al Ahly will meet Qatari Al-Duhail, Thursday, in the opening clash of the FIFA Club World Cup, held in Qatar from 4th to 11th of February.
