Al Ahly board member and football supervisor Sayed Abdel Hafeez has given the green light for young midfielder Bilal Atiya to join Spanish club Racing Santander, following the receipt of an official offer from the La Liga 2 side, Yallah Koora reported.
A source told Yallakora on Monday that Abdel Hafeez informed the player’s representatives of Al Ahly’s initial approval for the move, marking a significant step toward the transfer being finalized.
According to the same source, discussions are ongoing regarding several contractual details.
The proposed deal would see Atiya join Racing Santander on loan for a season and a half, with an option included for the Spanish club to purchase the player permanently at the end of the loan period.
Al Ahly recently received a formal offer from Racing Club Santander, which has been under review by club officials as part of their strategy to support the development of promising young players through European experience.
Born in 2008, Bilal Atiya is widely regarded as one of the most talented prospects in Egyptian football.
He has previously undergone trial periods with German clubs Stuttgart and Hannover, further highlighting the strong European interest in his potential.
The young midfielder also impressed with Egypt’s U-17 national team during the FIFA U-17 World Cup held last November, where his performances drew attention from several clubs abroad.
If completed, the move would represent another step in Al Ahly’s efforts to provide its emerging talents with opportunities on the European stage.
