Akram Hosny Teases Collaboration with Mohamed Mounir

Egyptian actor and musician Akram Hosny shared Monday a new detail about his highly-anticipated collaboration with “The King” Mohamed Mounir.

He disclosed that the song is called "Lelly" and is set to debut soon.

Hosny unveiled the collaboration in 2021 and disclosed that he met with Mounir and that the veteran singer listened to a song he wrote and composed.

“He liked the song very much and told me that he will perform it when he returns from Germany,” he stated.

Hosny also opened up about how he dreamed in the past about meeting and sitting with him.

“Now, I am speaking with Mohamed Mounir and he will be performing my song, one that I wrote and composed. This feels so good,” he added.

Mounir is one of the Middle East’s best singers. He released his 1977 debut solo album, “Alemony Eneeki” on the Sonar record label, after completing his military service.

The superstar has released over 22 official albums and featured six soundtrack albums under several different record labels.

Mounir, whose musical career spanned over three decades, presented various genres in his music, such as classical Egyptian Music, Nubian music, blues, jazz, and reggae.

The superstar’s lyrics are quite famous for their philosophical content as well as for their passionate social and political commentary.

He is affectionately known by his fans as “The King” due to his album and play “El Malek Howwa El Malek” (The King is The King).

Along with his singing career, Mounir also embarked on an acting career, during which he presented nearly 12 movies, 4 television series, and 3 plays.

He made his acting debut in 1982, starred in and performed the soundtrack of Youssef Chahine’s film “Hadouta Masreia” (An Egyptian Story).
