Ahli Tripoli Defeat Tala'ea El Gaish 2-1 in Arab Club Cup's Preliminary Round

Cairo-based Tala'ea El Gaish were defeated by the Libyan Ahli Tripoli 2-1 in the preliminary stage of the Arab Club Championship Cup.

The first half of the match ended with the domination of the Egyptian team 1-0 through a goal scored in 21 by Karim Tarek.

Early the second half, Libyan Al Ahli's Mohamed Abdel Salam hit the equalizer for his team through a penalty.

A few minutes before the end of the match, the Libyan team scored the winning goal by Ali Maatouk.

The Egyptian team hosted the Libyan competitors at the Gehaz Al Riyada Stadium, yesterday.

Martyrs of Beninah International Stadium, Benghazi, Libya will host the away game on April 11.

After this preliminary stage, another round will take place for choosing the teams that will advance to the main group stage.

Only two Egyptian teams are participating in the Arab Club Championship: Tala'ea El Gaish and Al Zamalek.

However, Al Zamalek will start their participation in the tournament from the main group stage by facing Saudi's Al Nasr.
