"Afshin Alavi: The Velayat-e Faqih Regime Trembles in Fear of Resistance Units More Than Foreign Bombing; The People Reject a Return to Past Dictatorship"

Afshin Alavi, a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated that democratic change in Iran is a national entitlement that cannot be achieved through foreign military interventions. Instead, it depends on the will of the Iranian people and their organized resistance. He emphasized that bets on external powers have failed in the face of the Iranians' resilience and their aspirations to end the era of dictatorship and establish a republic.

Alavi said: "The Iranian Resistance, represented by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, has welcomed the ceasefire agreement as a necessary step to protect civilians from the woes of a war caused by the regime's policies. However, it must be emphasized that lasting peace and stability in the region will not be achieved if the Velayat-e Faqih regime remains in power. Any negotiations that do not set an immediate halt to executions as a primary condition are merely granting the regime cover to continue its crimes against the people."

He added: "The Iranian regime is living in a state of existential terror from within, far more than its fear of external bombing. The recent execution of 10 political prisoners—including 6 members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), most notably Vahid Bani Amerian and Abolhassan Montazer—is clear proof that the Mullahs fear the eruption of a national uprising led by the Resistance Units across the country. They realize that while foreign bombs target their military machine, the Resistance aims to uproot their tyranny."

Alavi continued: "The illusions of Reza Pahlavi (the Shah's son), who tried to exploit the people's aspirations by betting on military intervention and foreign bombing to reach power, have collapsed. The Iranian people, who chant in the field 'No to the Shah, No to the Mullahs,' completely reject replacing a religious dictatorship with a monarchical one. Their goal is to build a democratic republic with its free children."

He explained: "The mysterious absence of Mojtaba Khamenei, whether due to injury or coma, remains noteworthy. However, the absence of the 'Supreme Leader' following the death of the executioner Ali Khamenei does not change the criminal nature of the regime. The repressive structure composed of the IRGC, and extremist factions continues to practice the same terrorist mentality that has destroyed Iran and the region for four decades."

Alavi stressed: "Mrs. Maryam Rajavi has announced the formation of a Provisional Government based on the 10-point plan to transfer sovereignty to the Iranian people. This is the only project capable of leading the transitional phase and guaranteeing the desired democratic change."

Alavi concluded: "The Velayat-e Faqih regime has reached its inevitable end. While the external war is dismantling its military joints, the Resistance Units are the strategic force that will deliver the final blow of salvation to this regime to establish peace and freedom in Iran."
