African Amputee Football Cup of Nations kicks off

The stage is set for the 7th edition of the African Amputee Football Cup of Nations, kicking off with the Opening Match between hosts Egypt and Nigeria on May 18th at 19:00 Cairo time at the Al Salam Stadium, the home venue of Egyptian Premier League sides Al Ahly and El Entag El Harby. This prestigious tournament, culminating in the final on May 27th, is meticulously organized and prepared by the Egyptian National Paralympic Committee, the Egyptian Amputee Football Federation, and the Confederation of African Amputee Football (CAAF).

Thirteen teams will compete in the group stage, showcasing their talents and determination to secure one of the seven coveted spots Africa will have at the upcoming 2026 World Cup of the World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF). The teams are divided into the following groups:

- Group A: Egypt, Nigeria, and Burundi

- Group B: Liberia, Morocco, and Uganda

- Group C: Ghana, Kenya, Gambia, and Algeria

- Group D: Angola, Tanzania, and Sierra Leone

Expectations are high for thrilling matches as the best African teams battle it out for glory and the crown of becoming the African Amputee Football Champion 2024.

Amputee Football is an amazing sport where players can showcase their excellence and excite the audience.”
