Saudi Arabia is set to host the 2027 edition of Asia’s premier national team tournament from January 7 to February 5, 2027.

The competition will be staged across eight stadiums in three major cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al Khobar.

A total of 24 national teams will compete in the tournament, with the official draw to be conducted based on the latest FIFA World Rankings issued prior to the ceremony.

So far, 20 teams have secured qualification for the finals, while the remaining four places will be decided in March.

The teams that have already qualified are Saudi Arabia, Australia, Iraq, Iran, Uzbekistan, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Japan, South Korea, Oman, Palestine, Bahrain, Jordan, China, Indonesia, North Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, and Singapore.

Qatar enter the tournament as the reigning champions, having won the last two editions in 2019 and 2023.

Japan remain the most successful nation in the history of the AFC Asian Cup, with four titles, followed by Saudi Arabia and Iran with three titles each.
