On Sunday, AEW’s star Darby Allin officially reached the summit of Mount Everest, becoming the first professional wrestler to make such an achievement.
The 32-year-old reached the peak at 8:50 am local time on May 18, 2025, alongside a team of experienced climbers.
Allin’s team included renowned climbers Ang Dorjee Sherpa (24th summit), Pasang Bhote (14th summit), Tashi Thundu Sherpa (12th summit), and Pemba Sherpa (2nd summit). According to the official update, the team is now descending to Camp 4 after arriving at the summit.
In addition to reaching the summit, Allin set a world record for the highest kickflip ever performed – at an elevation of 20,958 feet.
AEW officially posted a congratulatory post on social media, stating, “Congratulations to @DarbyAllin for reaching the summit of Mount Everest!” Fellow AEW wrestler Swerve Strickland also reacted to the news, writing “TOP OF THE WORLD!!!” in a message of support.
