Adel Emam Joins TikTok

Prominent actor, Adel Emam has joined popular video application, "TikTok", becoming the latest celebrities to join the platform.

Emam's account is verified and followed by over 50 thousand followers.

The account has posted 4 videos from El Zaeem's artistic works, including "Aris min geha amneya", "Al-Tajroba Al-Denmarkeya", and a scene from his latest TV series  "Valentino", which is currently premiering in Ramadan.

It also stars Dalal Abdelaziz, Tarek El Ebiary, Elham Abdelbadea, Badria Tolba, Rania Mahmoud Yassin, Wafaa Sadeq, Elham Abdelbadea, Soliman Eid, Mohamed al-Kilani, Huda El Mufti, and others.

The TV series is written by writer and poet Ayman Bahgat Kamar and directed by Emam’s older son, Ramy.

Valentino was scheduled to be premiered last Ramadan, but the filming stopped without clear reasons.

This was the prominent actor’s first time to be absent from the Ramadan drama marathon, after seven years.

Emam’s latest artistic work is TV series “Awalem Khafeya” (Hidden worlds).

It is worth mentioning that El Zaeem, born on May 17, 1940, is an Egyptian veteran actor and one of the most iconic figures in Arab cinema.

Emam was born in Mansoura but moved to Sayyed Zeinab at an early age with his family where he grew up.

He co-starred in over 100 movies, TV series, and plays.

Emam earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Cairo University, during which he became passionately involved in theatre productions.

He joined a television troupe in 1962 while still a student, and began starring in TV plays like “Ana wa Howa wa Heya” (He, She and I) and “Al Nassabin” (The Swindlers) which was performed at the Al Hakim Theater.

In the following years, Emam acted in several famous plays such as “Al Bijamma Al Hamra” (The Red Pajamas),”Fardet Shamal” (Left Shoe), and “Gharammiyat A’feefy” (A’feefy’s Love Affairs).

In the 1970s, he co-starred in the hit play “Madrassat Al Mashaghbeen” (Mischief at School), which were staged from 1971 to 1975, which were followed by play “Shahid Mashafsh Hagga” (The Witness Didn’t See Anything), and play “Al Wadd Sayyid Al Shaghal” which were staged from 1985 to 1993.

In 2000, the United Nations named him a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR.

People became familiar with seeing El Zaeem on the small screen over the past seven years, as he co-starred yearly in Ramadan drama matron with a new TV series such as “Awalem Khafeya”, “Afaret Adly Allam”, “Ma’moun wa shorakah”, “Ostaz wa Ra’ees Qesm”, “Saheb El Saa’da”,”Al Araaf”, and “Firqat Naji Atallah”.
