Head of the Actors’ Syndicate, actor Ashraf Zaki addressed Saturday Egyptian actress Rania Youssef's controversial statements to the Iraq-based TV channel "Al-Rasheed".

In a phone interview with the "Honorable Citizen" program, broadcast on "Al-Hadath", Zaki stated that the Syndicate board will meet on Sunday to discuss the situation and weigh what Youssef said as well as the position of the Syndicate.

Last week, the actress posted a promo for her latest interview with an Iraqi satellite channel, which featured her talking about her body.

"There will be a response from the syndicate." Zaki noted.

He stressed that the Syndicate respects everyone and responds to any complaints raised by anyone. Zaki explained that he does not have an account on Facebook and that the news is delivered late to him.

The meetings come after investigation authorities received 8 reports against Youssef in the past 24 hours over her statements.

On the other hand, Youssef deleted her controversial statement from Facebook, after the severe backlash she received.

The Syndicate issued on Thursday its first action over the footage. The Syndicate's Secretary-General Ashraf Tolba confirmed that the video published will be reviewed.

Since 2018, Youssef has been causing controversy on social media. She made headlines that year after she wore a black, see-through outfit that fully exposed her legs at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Cairo International Film Festival.
