Actor Hadi El Gayar Dies of Coronavirus

Prominent Egyptian actor, Hadi El Gayar died Sunday morning at the age of 71 inside Al-Haram Hospital, after contracting the Coronavirus.

El Gayar's funeral is scheduled to take place after the noon prayer at his family's cemetery in the 6th of October City.

A few days ago, the late actor was hospitalized after being infected with the deadly virus. Before his infection, he underwent open-heart surgery.

He was set to star in the second part of the series "Al Ekhteyar" (The Choice) starring Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Makki.

In memoir

El Gayar was born on October 15, 1949, He studied acting at the High Institute of Theatrical Arts. The actor's breakthrough came with his role in the popular play “Madraset Elmoshaghbeen” (School of Rowdies).

He starred in numerous popular TV series, including “Almal wal Banun” (Fortune and Progeny), “Elraya Elbeida” (The White Flag), “Alnawares wal Soqur” (Albatrosses and Falcons).

El Gayar Is best known for his roles in “Thom Tashreq Alshams” (Then The Sun Rises) (1971), and “Ihtares Esabet Alnisaa” (Watch Out for the Women's Clan) (1986).
