Spanish-Tunisian actress Hiba Abouk confirmed the breakup with her husband Moroccan football player Achraf Hakimi on Monday.
Abouk said: “The reality is that a while ago, after a lot of reflection, the father of my children and I made the decision to end our relationship, long before the recent media events that have involved me, which are totally external.”
She expressed her pain after leaving the Paris Saint-Germain star, underlining the “failure of a family project to which [she] had given [her] body and soul.”
The actress thanks her fans for their “support, love, and respect,” and “begged” people to respect her privacy and that of her children in these difficult times.
The separation came after Hakimi was given preliminary charges of rape. The player called the allegation “totally false,” asserting that he is “confident of his innocence.”
The 23-year-old girl reportedly told the police station in Nogent-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne) that she had been raped by the 24-year-old right-back, in an incident that dates back to January 16.
She revealed that they started talking on Instagram and met for the first time in person on Saturday at the athlete’s home.
Once at his house, the plaintiff reported that the footballer attempted to rape her before she was able to kick him and break free, texting a friend to pick her up once she escaped.
