AC Milan will collide against city rivals Inter Milan on Sunday evening in a highly anticipated Derby della Madonnina clash at San Siro Stadium, as part of Round 28 of the Serie A season.

Inter currently leads the league standings with 67 points, holding a 10-point advantage over second-placed Milan, who have accumulated 57 points so far.

The match represents a crucial opportunity for Milan to keep their title hopes alive and attempt to narrow the gap with the league leaders.

The second Milan derby of the season comes amid intense competition for the Serie A title.

The Rossoneri must secure victory to remain in the race, while Inter aim to extend their lead at the top and move closer to the championship.

Milan won the first derby of the season 1–0 at San Siro, giving them a psychological edge ahead of the latest encounter.

Across all competitions, Milan have remained unbeaten in the last six derby meetings, winning four of them.

If Milan manage to secure another victory, they would complete a league derby double over Inter for the first time since 2011, during the club’s successful era under former coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Inter head into the match in excellent form, having remained unbeaten in the league since late November when they suffered a 1–0 defeat to Milan.

The Nerazzurri have also recorded eight consecutive Serie A victories, most recently defeating Genoa CFC 2–0 in the previous round.

Statistically, Inter boast the most potent attack in the league, scoring 21 more goals than Milan this season.

They are also the most effective team from set pieces, registering 21 goals from such situations, including 15 from corner kicks, the highest tally in Serie A.

By contrast, Milan have struggled defensively against set pieces, conceding nearly half of their goals from these situations, with about 25 percent coming from corner kicks.

With both teams fighting for different objectives, Milan chasing the title and Inter seeking to consolidate their dominance, the derby promises to deliver another intense chapter in one of Italian football’s fiercest rivalries.
