Spokesman of Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Abu Zeid said that the relations between Egypt and the United States (US) extend over many decades, stressing the importance of permanently strengthening communication between both countries, in addition to the cooperation in various fields and consultations on regional issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause.
In televised remarks, Abu Zeid added that the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit comes within the framework of the US’s keenness on joint coordination with the Egyptian state to achieve calm in the Palestinian territories, as well as stopping the aggression on the Palestinian lands.
Moreover, he pointed out that Blinken expressed his country's appreciation for the Egyptian state's achievements in the human rights file, and the national dialogue.
Both ministers also agreed to establish an economic commission between the two countries, that will be launched in the first quarter of this year.
On the other hand, the spokesman said that Shoukry's visit to Russia comes within the framework of his constant keenness to establish balanced diplomatic relations with various countries of the world.
