Hani Abu Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association, revealed details of the national team's preparations for the 2026 World Cup, scheduled to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada next June. He confirmed that the preparation plan is proceeding according to a comprehensive program in coordination with the coaching staff, led by Hossam Hassan.

This came during a meeting of the Youth and Sports Committee in the House of Representatives, chaired by MP Mohamed Megahed, and attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports and the national team's coaching staff.

Abu Rida explained that the team will play a friendly match against a European team before traveling to the World Cup, in addition to a strong match against Brazil on June 6, as part of the final preparation program. He noted that a meeting with the coaching staff will be held on May 23 to finalize the training camp plan.

The head of the Football Association pointed out that the national team’s participation in the upcoming World Cup will face significant logistical challenges, given that the tournament will be held in three countries, which will require travel of up to 50 minutes by air between the accommodation and the match venues in the group stage, unlike the Qatar World Cup, which was characterized by ease of travel within a single geographical area.
