Aboul Gheit: Trump's Policies Could Derail Peace Efforts in the Middle East

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, expressed concerns about the potential repercussions of President Donald Trump’s policies on the peace processes in the Middle East. 

According to Sky News, Aboul Gheit stated, "If President Trump continues to pressure Palestinian and Arab parties, it could lead the Middle East into a new cycle of intense conflict between the Arabs and Israel."

Aboul Gheit emphasized that the U.S. proposal regarding Gaza is unacceptable to both Palestinians and the Arab world. He added that the displacement plan effectively negates the Palestinian people’s sovereign rights over their land, which is universally deemed unacceptable.

He advocated for efforts to achieve an acceptable settlement between Palestinians and Israelis, culminating in the establishment of a Palestinian state followed by mutual cooperation. He firmly rejected any plans that would displace the historic inhabitants of Palestinian territories.
