Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, received today, Sunday, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat, Minister of Strategic Affairs of Brazil, Flavio Rocha. The meeting focused on a number of issues of common interest.
An official source from the General Secretariat stated that Aboul Gheit expressed during the meeting his aspiration that Brazil would continue its support for the Palestinian cause, in various international forums, especially during the current stage which is witnessing a continuous escalation from the Israeli side to change the status quo in Jerusalem.
The source stated that Aboul Gheit stressed during the meeting the importance of developing economic and strategic relations between the Arab countries and Brazil, especially increasing the volume of trade exchange between Brazil and the Arab countries.
Aboul Gheit expressed his appreciation for the Arab-Brazilian relations, stressing the importance of working on expanding them to achieve the maximum benefit for both sides.
