On Saturday, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of Arab League (AL) received German Foreign Minister (FM) Annalena Baerbock at the AL headquarters in Cairo.
The two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in the critical situation in Gaza Strip.
The Secretary-General also stressed the Arab League's categorical rejection of any form of forcible displacement of Palestinian residents from the north of the Gaza Strip to the south, or of their collective punishment in a way that flagrantly violates international humanitarian law.
The meeting saw a consensus on the need to protect the civilian population in the Strip from Israeli military action, and the importance of delivering humanitarian assistance to Gaza to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
Furthermore, Aboul Gheit listened to the German minister's views on the developments, stressing on his part the need for concerted international action to prevent the continuation of the massacre in Gaza, especially as the cycle of violence and revenge will not bring security or peace in the long run.
Moreover, he also listened to an explanation from German minister about the crisis of detainees of German nationality in the Strip.
