Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of Arab League, condemned and denounced the terrorist attack, which targeted a village in the Muqdadiya district of Diyala governorate in Iraq yesterday evening, leaving dozens of people killed and injured.
An official source at the General Secretariat of the Arab League said that the Secretary-General is deeply concerned about the attempts aimed at destabilizing Iraq, especially in the wake of the parliamentary elections on October 10.
The source warned of the negative repercussions of the political tensions taking place in the Iraqi arena on the stability of the security situation, stressing the importance of continuing efforts and cooperating in order to eliminate the remaining outposts of the terrorist organization ISIS.
The source renewed the Arab League's support for all the efforts made by the Iraqi state in this regard, and its aspiration for Iraq to be able to overcome the current challenges on the security and political levels, to complete its efforts on the path to achieving stability and development
