The lawyer Malek Adly announced a verdict against one of the art production companies because of “Abo Omar El-Masry” series.

The lawyer posted on his Facebook saying: “Today I obtained a court order from Cairo Economic Court for our ambassador and novelist, Ezzedine Choukri Fishere against Tvision media Production Company.

The Court obligated the company mentioned to pay 600 thousand Egyptian pounds to compensate the financially and literary damage, which caused damage to our client due to the refusal of the company mentioned to implement a previous verdict.

Adly demonstrated that he obtained a court order from the court to prevent screening “Abo Omar El-Masry” series, expect after adding the author’s name on the artwork’s theme song.

The production company purposely removed the author’s name from the series theme song and from its trailer, violating the irrevocable contract for the intellectual property rights law between them. Then we were shocked that the company mentioned sold the series on Netflix and Shahid platforms without their obligation to mention the author’s name on the series’ theme song. As a result, we filed a case that ended with the court order mentioned.

“Abo Omar El-Masry” is an Egyptian series produced in 2018, starring Ahmed Ezz, Ahmad Al-Awadi, Arwa Gouda, Mohamed Gomaa, Mahmoud Hegazy, Amal Bouchoucha, Sabry Fawwaz, Arfa Abdel Rassoul, Mohammad Al Sharnouby, Mondher Rayahneh, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Abbas Abul-Hassan, Mohammed Aly Rizk, Nadia Kounda, Eman El-Asy, Ahmed Bedier, Mohamed Sallam, Hesham Kadry, Mohamed Metwalli, Ashraf Zaki, and Sanaa Shafei.
