Abedini: The Billion-Dollar Deals of Velayat-e Faqih Regime in Heart of Europe are a Blatant Undermining of Sanctions and a Contempt for Blood of Iranian People

Hossein Abedini, Deputy Representative of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in the United Kingdom, stated today that reports regarding the Iranian regime's suspicious financial activities in European capitals reveal a stark contradiction and a structural failure in the enforcement of international sanctions. This provides a financial lifeline to the regime’s machinery of suppression and terrorism.

Abedini stated: "The report published by the Austrian newspaper *Der Standard* regarding a massive real estate deal in Vienna worth 706 million euros, linked to networks belonging to Mojtaba Khamenei—son of Khamenei the Executioner—is not merely a commercial transaction; it is a security and financial infiltration into the heart of the European Union. While the West boasts about imposing sanctions on the Velayat-e Faqih regime for its military support of Russia through drones, we find that the same regime moves freely to launder its money in the most prestigious districts of Vienna and London."

He added: "This pattern of financial penetration extends from Vienna to London, where investigations have uncovered a real estate portfolio worth 142 million pounds managed by regime-linked networks in broad daylight. These funds do not belong to officials; they are looted from the pockets of the Iranian people, who are struggling below the poverty line."

Abedini continued: "While the Rebellious Youth were facing the bullets of the Revolutionary Guards with bare chests during the January 2026 uprising—where thousands were martyred or wounded, and thousands more were arrested facing the risk of execution—the financial networks of Khamenei’s household were working to secure their assets in stable European markets. Allowing these deals to pass is a stab in the back of the Iranian Resistance and the sacrifices of the people for freedom."

He explained: "Europe cannot claim a commitment to human rights and support for international security while leaving legal loopholes that allow those close to the Velayat-e Faqih regime to circumvent sanctions through shell companies and proxy directors. The gap between political rhetoric and financial reality has become a strategic threat that transcends borders."

Abedini emphasized: "The message of the Iranian Resistance is clear: sanctions are not measured by press releases but by results on the ground. The continued flow of the regime's capital into Vienna and London weakens the international pressure required to achieve democratic change in Iran and grants the mullahs the ability to continue domestic suppression and the exportation of terrorism abroad."

Abedini concluded: "We call upon European governments and regulatory bodies to close these loopholes immediately and seize these assets for the benefit of the Iranian people. Recognizing the right of the Rebellious Youth to overthrow the Velayat-e Faqih regime is the only way to end this threat, rather than allowing Khamenei the Executioner and his gang to turn European capitals into safe havens for their looted wealth."
