Abdel Ghaffar Opens “Space for Society” Event

Dr. Mohamed Al-Qousi, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA), announced the future plans and programs of the agency during the coming period, which includes a number of different training and educational axes, as well as partnerships and protocols with Egyptian universities.

He pointed out to Egypt’s achievements in the space field, stressing that these accomplishments came as a result of great efforts exerted by the Egyptian specialized cadres, in a way to achieve development and Egyptian national security.

Dr. Al-Qousi stressed that he is keen on setting a timetable for the next 10 years that meets Egypt's aspirations in the space field.

Egyptian space agency CEO also pointed out that Egypt is looking forward to launching a spacecraft to the outer space; an area that the Egyptian state have to cope with.

This came during Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research inauguration of an event entitled "Space for Society", which was organized by the "Egyptian Space Agency" in cooperation with the Technology & Innovation Support Center, and Arab Science and Technology Foundation, at the Leadership and Management Development Center in Giza’s Agouza.

During the opening, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar reviewed the most important partnerships with friendly countries in the fields of space science, foremost of which France, Kazakhstan, Italy, and China.

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that Egypt will witness key events during this year, including, the opening of the satellites manufacturing and assembly center in space and satellite technology city in cooperation with China, as well as activating all cooperation protocols with different countries in the space fields.
