Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) expressed deep appreciation for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and legitimate rights. He praised Egypt’s firm stance on defending Palestinian rights and its continuous assistance to the Palestinian people.
This came during a meeting between Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and President Abbas, on the sidelines of the 38th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa. Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Mohamed Gad, and Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the African Union also attended the meeting.
Abbas asked Madbouli to convey his greetings to El-Sisi and expressed his hope for strong Arab backing for Palestine during the upcoming Arab Summit on February 27.
Madbouli reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast commitment to Palestinian rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also referred to his recent meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa in Cairo on February 6, which focused on joint coordination to uphold Palestinian rights.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty highlighted Egypt’s diplomatic efforts to support Palestine, carried out under President El-Sisi’s directives, through regional and international engagement.
