On Monday, US Health Minister, Alex Azar stated that ''any vaccine or treatment that the United States develops for Covid-19 disease will be available to the rest of the world once the country's needs are met.''

Moreover, there are more than 200 potential vaccines for the virus being developed worldwide, including more than 20 in the clinical trial stage on humans.

President Donald Trump has pledged to provide a vaccine before the end of the year, although vaccines usually require several years of development and testing to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Also, Azar told reporters during a visit to Taiwan: "Of course, our top priority is to develop and produce an adequate quantity of safe and effective vaccines and treatments approved by the Food and Drug Administration to be used on patients."

He added, "But we expect that we will have the ability, once these needs are met, to make these products available in the world according to fair and equal distribution processes and we will consult the international community about."
