88 Films to Participate in Mansoura Int'l Children’s Film Festival

The organizing committee of the El Mansoura International Children’s Film Festival announced that 88 films from 25 countries will participate in the festival’s first edition, scheduled to take place from February 9 to 14.

The lineup includes 30 international films, 12 Arab productions, and 46 Egyptian films, offering children a rich cinematic experience that reflects diverse cultures, stories, and human values from around the world.

The international competition features films from 18 countries, presenting a wide range of imaginative stories and meaningful experiences. 

From France, the festival will screen "Tiger and Fox: Animals Grieve Their Loss Too," which explores how animals deal with loss, alongside "The Forbidden Fruit," "Toy Box," and "Big." 

Furthermore, Russia is represented by several films, including "Orange Tree," "Once Upon a Time There Was a Mountain," "How a Giraffe and a Raccoon Saved the Moon," "Bloodix," and "Once Upon a Starry Night," all highlighting adventure and universal human values.

Other participating films include "One Gold Coin – A Robin Hood Story" from Finland, "Pappu's Paalappu" from India, and "Lady Bird," which focuses on childhood journeys and imagination. 

In addition, Ukraine participates with "Quokka," Poland with "The Elephant Who Wasn’t the Last," Japan with "Dungeons & Television," Brazil with "The Adventures of Lost Time," Italy and Spain with "The Hedgehog Tree," and the US with "The Red Scarf: A Story of Armenian Hope" and "The Story of Sugar." 

Australia joins with "Wonderfully Made," while Portugal is represented by "Doors."

The festival also will display 46 Egyptian films. Among them are "Save Our Earth," "Fears," "Live It Right," and "The Nile Brings Us Together," as well as longer works such as "Disconnected," "The New Nomads," and "The Player." 

The Egyptian competition also features imaginative works like "Rhythms of a Girl’s Dream" and "8 Candles," along with musical and heritage-themed films such as "Village of Melodies" and "The Shining Children’s Club."

 Educational and cultural themes are highlighted in films like "The School Library," "Hope," and "Reflection."

Regarding the presence of the Arab world in the festival, twelve Arab films from Jordan, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Tunisia, and Saudi Arabia are also taking part, including international co-productions with France and Germany. 

Jordan is represented by "Remnant," "Hide and Seek," and "Zoo," which is presented in collaboration with Germany. 

Morocco participates with "Investigation," "Halouma," and "When Silence Speaks." 

Furthermore, the UAE presents "Children of Barzagh," while Palestine competes with "The Deer’s Tooth," "10 Minutes Younger," and "Palestine Island" in cooperation with France. 

Tunisia joins with "As Long as We Still Dream," and KSA with "Khayyalah."
