Syria's defense ministry stated that at least eight individuals were killed and 32 others wounded as a result of US airstrikes on Deir ez-Zor governorate.

In a Facebook post, the ministry disclosed, "This morning, US forces conducted airstrikes on several cities, villages, and military installations in the Deir ez-Zor governorate using military aircraft and drones." It added, "Seven servicemen and one civilian were killed, while 19 servicemen and 13 civilians sustained injuries."

Earlier reports from Al Hadath television channel indicated that the United States targeted military facilities belonging to pro-Iranian Shiite units in Deir ez-Zor governorate. The strikes reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least nine Shiite fighters, including two commanders, and wounded around 20 others.

According to sources cited by the TV channel, the airstrikes followed the arrival of an Iranian military-transport plane at Deir ez-Zor's airfield. The plane purportedly delivered technical equipment and combat gear for Shiite units stationed in the Al-Qusur area, which was also among the targets of the strikes.
