7 Ways To Brighten Up Your Bedroom

However, a DIY job allows you to save yourself the professional fee and use your creativity to create a beautiful space.

Are you short of ideas? Here are some tips to help you along.

1. Plants

 

Plants are great for any room in the house.

They absorb C02 from the air and give out oxygen purifying the air. Some indoor plants such as Dracaena absorb allergens from the air and hold it in their leaves. While others such as the Areca Palm are natural humidifiers.

It can also look great, and if they are flowering, they can add a dash of color to your room.

2. Change Bedding

 

If you have had the same bedding for years, remodel it up to give your room a new look.

The options are endless, you can change your pillowcases or add more new pillows to give your bed a much cushier look, or get a new quilt covers.

 

3. Add Color

One of the easiest ways to freshen up a room is by giving it a fresh coat of paint.

But you must get it right.

Look at different color palates and visualize how different colors would look like in your room before doing the actual paintwork.

 

4. Use Wallpaper

 

Wallpaper is an excellent alternative to paint.

If you have a small bedroom, pick wallpapers will light, large scale patterns. The opposite will make your room look even smaller.

If you are worried about the cost, you do not have to use wallpaper on the entire surface of all your walls.

You can choose only to use it on a focal wall.

5. Mirrors

Mirrors are exceptional décor items that make a room look bigger than it actually this. This illusion is especially handy when decorating small bedrooms.

Pick out mirrors of different sizes for your room, you can use larger ones on their own, or buy several small ones and use them to create a collage on the wall.

You can also place a mirror directly opposite a window. This will reflect the light from the window and illuminate the room.

A cluttered, squeezed-in bedroom does nothing for aesthetics or for a good night’s sleep.

Your room can look and feel much lighter and airier by only retaining a few essential items and creating out of the way storage.

7. Lighting

 

Lighting is best done in layers.

If you have a large bedroom, use ambient, task, and accent lighting tastefully on different sections of your bedroom to create a warm, peaceful atmosphere.

Even with smaller rooms, several gentle lights are better than one harsh light.

You can also add your little personal touches to lampshades by using ribbons and other tiny trinkets and mementos to decorate their exterior.
