7 Suspects Arrested for 4 Ton of Quartz Containing Gold in Marsa Alam

Police department detectives in Marsa Alam in southern Red Sea Governorate seized 4 tons of quartz stones mixed with gold ore.

The 4 tons of quartz were loaded on 3 trucks in a mountain area, and 7 people were arrested on charges of illegal excavation for gold ore.

The security manager of the Red Sea Governorate received a notice that Lieutenant-Colonel Mahmoud Zamzam, the head of Marsa Alam Investigation, reported that Captain Ali Omar, the assistant detective of the department, has seized 4 tons of quartz stones mixed with gold ore before grinding them in one of the mountain areas on the road of "Edfu - Marsa Alam."

The 3 trucks and some equipment used in the excavation operations were seized. During the seizure, a report was issued about the incident, and the competent prosecution was notified to follow up the investigations.
