6 Million Pounds Awarded to Young Scientists, Researches

The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology announced today under the supervision of Dr. Khalid Abdel Ghaffar, the Minister of Higher education and Scientific Research, the winners of the state competitions in all the different categories.

The total number of awards was 109 award and this was the first year that all the awards were announced at the same time. Thus, today’s awards ceremony is considered the second most important scientific event after the science day. All the young scientists and researches from allover Africa look forward to this awards ceremony.

The Total awards:

This year’s total state awards were 55 awards costing about 5 million and 300 thousand pounds (about 342 thousand dollars).

Not to mention the awards presented by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology council, the pioneers awards, woman awards for 2019 that cost about 690 thousand pounds (about 44 thousand dollars) and the young African researches award for 2020 that cost 20 thousand dollars.

The number of winners reached 41 winners making the total cost of the authorities and inpiduals awards a million and 190 thousand pounds (about 77 thousand dollars).

Dr. Yehia Ahmed Bahy

Both Dr. Hesham Fouad Mohamed and Dr. Yehia Ahmed Bahy won the Nile Prize for science and technology. Also, the state appreciation prizes were awarded to 8 winners while the state excellence prizes were awarded to 7 winners and the state encouragement prizes were awarded to 38 scientists.

Cairo in the lead with 10 awards:

The council announced that Cairo University took the first position with 10 award while the National Research Center came in the second place with 8 awards followed by Ain Shams University, El Mansoura University and the Zagazig University with 5 awards each, then Tanta University with 4 awards, the Menoufiya University with 3 awards followed by Alexandria University, Asyout University, Suez Canal Uniersity, and the Scientific Research City with 2 awards each. Leaving the Universities of Kafr el-Sheikh, Damietta, Bani-Suef, Minia, New Valley, Zewail City, BUE, Sadat Academy, National Astronomy Center, National Laser Center, Nuclear Research Center and 57357 hospital with 1 award each.
