The prestigious event, the first Platinum-level squash tournament of the 2026 season, is being held in the United States from January 22 to 30, offering total prize money of $239,000 each for the men’s and women’s draws.

The Egyptian contingent secured their quarterfinal places during the Round of 16 matches, producing several all-Egyptian clashes and impressive victories.

Karim Abdel Gawad battled past France’s Grégoire Marche in a five-game thriller, winning 3–2 (7–11, 11–4, 8–11, 11–6, 11–5).

Hania El Hammamy cruised into the last eight with a dominant 3–0 win over Kenzy Ayman (11–6, 11–3, 11–2), while Mostafa Asal also claimed a straight-games victory against Mohamed Zakaria, prevailing 3–0 (13–11, 11–5, 11–3).

Youssef Ibrahim completed the list of qualifiers after beating France’s Baptiste Masotti 3–1, with scores of 12–10, 8–11, 12–10, and 11–7.

Egypt boasts a significant presence at the tournament, with 20 players competing overall, nine in the men’s draw and 11 in the women’s competition, once again underlining the country’s dominance in world squash.

The strong Egyptian representation continues to shape the latter stages of the Tournament of Champions as the competition moves toward the quarterfinals in New York.
