45 Dead in Bus Accident in South Africa

The South African Ministry of Transport announced on Thursday that at least 45 people have lost their lives and one person sustained serious injuries in a bus accident near Mamatlakala in the Limpopo province of the northern part of the country.

According to the ministry's statement, the driver lost control of the bus, which collided with a bridge barrier, causing it to plummet to the ground and burst into flames.

The statement further noted that the passenger bus was ferrying individuals from Botswana to the town of Moria in Limpopo.

In a separate statement, the Limpopo Transport Administration reported that rescue operations continued until late Thursday evening.

This tragic incident highlights the importance of road safety measures and the need for ongoing efforts to prevent such accidents in the future.
