Greece has reported the tragic deaths of four migrants, including two children, following a botched maneuver by the driver of their boat off the coast of the Greek island of Kos.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, with 27 survivors rescued by the Greek Coast Guard.

According to a statement from the Coast Guard, the accident happened when the person piloting the small boat made a "reckless maneuver" near the island.

Ten passengers were thrown overboard, leading to the deaths of two women and two children. The remaining survivors were safely rescued by Coast Guard vessels, and no individuals have been reported missing.

This tragic event comes as Europe faces increasing pressure from migration, exacerbated by conflicts in the Middle East and Africa, as well as the growing impacts of climate change.

Officials have warned that these factors are likely to lead to a prolonged surge in migration to Europe, straining resources and systems across the continent.
