On Tuesday, four people were killed and more than 1,000 others were displaced after floods swept areas in Yemen.

A source in local authorities told “Sputnik” that two workers of the water and sanitation department drowned while trying to open rainwater drainage channels in Sanaa.

A man and his son died after the floods had swept away their car in Hajjah Governorate, northwestern Yemen.

The floods and strong winds displaced about 1200 people in Marib, northeastern the country.

The Executive Unit for IDP Camps in Marib mentioned on Facebook that rains and strong winds hit some camps in the Marib desert, and displaced more than 1200 people, including children and women.

On March 9, the UN announced that rains and floods affected more than 240,000 people across Yemen in 2021.
