Four people required medical assistance after a regional train collided with a high-speed "InterCity Express" train at the main station in Fürth, south of Frankfurt, according to German police.

One of the cars of the high-speed train, which was en route from Munich to Hamburg, derailed due to the collision.

Fortunately, no one sustained serious injuries. The high-speed train was carrying 520 passengers.

Investigators from the German Federal Police and the Federal Railway Authority are looking into the incident.

The emergency control center at Deutsche Bahn informed federal police of the incident at 09:05 local time.

Germany boasts one of the most extensive and efficient railway networks in the world, with trains being a popular mode of transportation for both domestic and international travel.

However, accidents like train collisions are rare but can occur due to various factors such as technical malfunctions, human error, or adverse weather conditions.
