Uefa President Aleksander Čeferin said on Saturday that there are three options, offered to resume all the competitions in Europe.

In statements to SkySports, the Uefa president said: " We do not know when exactly the coronavirus pandemic will end, and we can not draw up a plan for completing the ongoing season."

"We have three options to resume the football activity," he said.

"The first one is to resume the competitions in mid-May or in June," Čeferin said.

Čeferin added that the second option is to cancel the season if the competitions would not be resumed in June.

The third option is to resume the activities in the summer and this means that the beginning of the next season will be delayed.

It is worth mentioning that the Uefa postponed the final games of the Uefa Champions League and the Europa League until an unknown date due to coronavirus pandemic.

The COVID-19 caused complete paralysis in football across Europe as the World Health Organisation (WHO) announced the continent as ‘epicenter’ of the virus.

In a statement, the Uefa has decided to delay all the finals of the European competitions, due to be held in May, until an unknown date.

“As a result of the COVID-19 crisis in Europe, UEFA has today formally taken the decision to postpone the following matches, originally scheduled for May 2020,” the statement read.

On March 17, the Uefa decided to postpone Euro 2020 by one year until 2021 because of the coronavirus outbreak.

European football’s governing body made the decision during an emergency video conference involving major stakeholders.

The tournament, which was scheduled to take place from 12 June-12 July this summer, will be played from 11 June to 11 July next year.

European football’s governing body said that the postponement would give a chance for European leagues that have been halted to now be played.
