3 Dead in Midair Collision of Planes in Australia

A tragic midair collision between two light aircraft has claimed the lives of three men in bushland southwest of Sydney, Australia.

Emergency responders from New South Wales Police, Fire, and Ambulance reached the crash sites, located roughly 55 miles from Sydney, where they found one aircraft in flames upon impact.

A Cessna 182 carrying two passengers and an ultralight aircraft with a solo pilot collided midair before crashing about a kilometer apart.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing debris falling from the sky. While residents attempted to assist, responders found the crashes "not survivable."

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is now investigating the cause of the incident.
