Egypt has many fabulous historical venues, but it is no secret that the hundreds of beaches that cover its 2900-kilometer coastline are some of the most popular attractions to visit.

Many of the most beautiful Egypt’s landscapes can be spotted along the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, and there is loads of domestic culture to experience right on the sand.

The North African country holds something for every type of beach-lover. These are the most beautiful stretches of golden sand, bathed by intensely blue waters and blessed with sunshine practically all year round.

Rommel Beach

Located on the northwest coast of Marsa Matruh, the shore has a long history, blending with its cultural features, and its named after the German commander called the Desert Fox Ervin Rommel.

Rommel Beach is characterized by its soft white sand, and its deep, multi-deep water, which ranges between white, turquoise, and dark blue.

The beach is known for a local myth that Cleopatra and Mark Antony once bathed here in a sheltered natural pool between the rocks, known as Cleopatra's Bath.
