At least 28 people have been killed and 19 others seriously injured in a bus accident in southern Ethiopia, according to local authorities.
The bus reportedly veered off the road and plunged into a river in the Wolaita Zone, about 400 kilometers south of the capital, Addis Ababa.
The accident occurred in the Kindo Diday area, and local officials confirmed the fatalities and injuries in a statement on Facebook.
Search and rescue operations are still ongoing, and authorities have yet to release details about any potential survivors or the total number of passengers on board.
