The Spanish club will have 10 players involved in Sunday's title clash at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, underlining Atletico's growing influence on the international stage.
Spain's squad includes Marcos Llorente, Alex Baena, Marc Pubill and Alejandro Grimaldo, while Argentina will be represented by Juan Musso, Nahuel Molina, Julian Alvarez, Giuliano Simeone, Thiago Almada and Nico Gonzalez.
The achievement sees Atletico Madrid surpass every other club in World Cup final history since Italy 1934, setting a new benchmark for player representation in football's biggest match.
The milestone also continues Atletico's remarkable presence in recent World Cup finals. During the 2018 World Cup final between France and Croatia, the club had four representatives: Antoine Griezmann, Lucas Hernandez, Thomas Lemar and Sime Vrsaljko.
Four years later, Atletico again had four players in the 2022 World Cup final between Argentina and France, with Griezmann, Angel Correa, Nahuel Molina and Rodrigo De Paul, as the Argentine trio celebrated lifting the trophy in Qatar.
Barcelona will also be strongly represented in Sunday's final, with several Spain internationals including Lamine Yamal, Eric Garcia, Pedri, Gavi, Pau Cubarsi, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres and Joan Garcia expected to feature.
Across the entire 2026 FIFA World Cup, Barcelona, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain each sent 16 players to the tournament, while Manchester City led all clubs with 19 representatives, followed by Bayern Munich with 17.
