Brazil rediscovered their rhythm in emphatic fashion as the 2026 FIFA World Cup served up another entertaining day of action on Matchday 9, with the five-time champions cruising to a 3-0 win over Haiti, co-hosts the United States booking their place in the knockout stage, and Morocco claiming a hard-fought victory over Scotland.

Brazil produced one of their most convincing displays of the tournament so far, brushing aside Haiti in Philadelphia to register their first win of the competition.

Matheus Cunha starred with a brace, while Vinicius Jr. also found the net as the Seleção finally delivered the kind of attacking performance their fans had been waiting for.

After a sluggish start to the tournament, Brazil looked far more fluent in the final third, with Cunha and Vinicius combining pace, movement, and creativity to overwhelm Haiti’s defense.

The victory offered a timely reminder of Brazil’s attacking pedigree and injected fresh optimism into their campaign.

While tougher challenges still lie ahead, the performance suggested that Brazil may be beginning to rediscover the flair and confidence that have long defined them on the World Cup stage.

For a team burdened by expectation and a long wait to reclaim football’s biggest prize, the result was both important and encouraging.

Earlier in the day, the United States continued their impressive start to the tournament by defeating Australia 2-0 and becoming the second team to seal qualification for the knockout rounds after Mexico.

Playing with energy and confidence in front of a vibrant home crowd, the Americans once again looked sharp, aggressive, and fearless in attack.

Their pressing unsettled Australia throughout the match, while their pace and directness in transition proved decisive.

The result underlined the growing belief surrounding Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who appear to be thriving under the spotlight of a home World Cup rather than shrinking beneath it.

The atmosphere generated by the crowd added to the occasion, and the U.S. responded with another mature display that reinforced their credentials as one of the tournament’s early success stories.

With momentum building and qualification already secured, the hosts are beginning to look like a side capable of making a deep run.

Morocco also celebrated a crucial result, edging Scotland 1-0 to claim their first win of the tournament. Once again, Ismael Saibari was the difference-maker, continuing his fine form with another superbly taken goal.

After scoring a memorable finish against Brazil, the Moroccan forward followed it up with a composed strike from a tight angle against Scotland, underlining his growing influence in the team’s attack.

Morocco created enough chances to win by a bigger margin, but their inability to convert more opportunities kept the contest alive until the final whistle.

Still, Saibari’s quality in front of goal proved enough to secure all three points and give Morocco a significant boost in their group campaign.

His sharp finishing has quickly made him one of the standout performers of the opening phase of the tournament.

Elsewhere, Paraguay produced a determined performance to eliminate Turkey from the tournament with a 1-0 victory despite playing much of the game with 10 men.

Midfielder Matias Galarza scored the only goal of the match just 64 seconds after kickoff with a low strike from 25 metres, giving Paraguay an early lead they defended bravely for the remainder of the contest.

The goal also surpassed Saibari’s 71-second opener for Morocco earlier in the day as the fastest strike of Day 9.
