England booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after securing a hard-fought 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway in their quarter-final clash at Miami Stadium.

Norway struck first in the 36th minute through Andreas Schjelderup, whose effort deceived goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to give the Scandinavian side the lead.

Jude Bellingham restored parity for England in first-half stoppage time, firing home in the 45+2 minute to send the teams into the break level.

Norway thought they had regained the lead in the second half, but VAR ruled out a goal by Tormod Heggem after Erling Haaland was judged to have committed a foul in the build-up.

With neither side able to find a winner in regulation time, the match went to extra time, where Bellingham once again proved decisive.

The Real Madrid midfielder capitalized on a rebound from the Norwegian goalkeeper in the 93rd minute to score his second goal of the night and seal England's place in the last four.

England will now face the winner of the quarter-final between Argentina and Switzerland in the World Cup semi-finals.

Bellingham's brace continued his outstanding tournament form as England moved one step closer to their first World Cup title since 1966.
