Tottenham Hotspur continued their impressive run in the UEFA Champions League after securing a convincing 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Matchday 7 of the league phase.
The London side started the match aggressively and imposed their dominance from the opening minutes.
Their pressure paid off early, as defender Cristian Romero opened the scoring in the 14th minute, capitalizing on confusion in the Dortmund defense.
Tottenham maintained their momentum and doubled their lead in the 37th minute through Dominic Solanke, giving the hosts a comfortable advantage by halftime.
Dortmund’s task became even more difficult when Daniel Svensson was shown a red card in the 26th minute, forcing the German side to play the remainder of the match with ten men and severely limiting their chances of a comeback.
With this victory, Tottenham raised their tally to 14 points, climbing to fifth place in the Champions League standings.
Borussia Dortmund remain on 11 points, sitting in 11th place.
