Real Madrid delivered a stunning performance as they thrashed French side Monaco 6-1 on Tuesday night at the Santiago Bernabéu, in Matchday 7 of the group stage of the 2025–2026 UEFA Champions League.

French superstar Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring early, netting two goals in the 5th and 26th minutes.

Franco Mastantuono added the third goal shortly after halftime in the 51st minute, before Monaco defender Thilo Kehrer turned the ball into his own net in the 55th minute.

Vinícius Júnior made it 5-0 in the 63rd minute, while Jude Bellingham completed the emphatic victory with the sixth goal in the 80th minute.

Monaco pulled one back through Jordan Teze in the 72nd minute, scoring a consolation goal for the visitors.

Vinícius Júnior was the standout performer of the match, contributing to four goals in total, scoring once and providing three assists.

The six-goal haul also marked the first time in Real Madrid’s history that the club scored six goals against a French team in a European competition.

The match carried special significance for Mbappé, who began his European career with Monaco, scoring six goals in nine Champions League appearances during the 2016–2017 season.

Since his move to Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappé has continued to torment his former club, scoring 13 goals in 15 European matches against Monaco across all competitions.

The match also marked a successful European debut for head coach Álvaro Arbeloa, who took charge of Real Madrid following Xabi Alonso’s departure.

Arbeloa is overseeing a transitional period for the club after losing the Spanish Super Cup final 3-2 to Barcelona and suffering an early exit from the Copa del Rey against Albacete.

With this dominant win, Real Madrid sit third in their Champions League group with 15 points, while Monaco drop to 20th place in the overall standings with nine points.

Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga also achieved a notable milestone, becoming the second-youngest French player to reach 50 Champions League appearances, behind only Kylian Mbappé.
