Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning UEFA Champions League holders, suffered a dramatic 2-1 defeat against Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday evening, in a match played as part of Matchday 7 of the Champions League league phase.

The first half ended in a goalless draw, with both sides struggling to break the deadlock. In the second half, Sporting Lisbon took the lead in the 74th minute through Luis Suárez.

PSG quickly responded, as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored the equalizer in the 79th minute to bring the French champions back into the game.

However, Sporting delivered a late blow in the 90th minute, when Luis Suárez struck again to score the winning goal and hand PSG a crushing defeat.

Following the loss, Paris Saint-Germain dropped to fifth place in the Champions League standings with 13 points. Sporting Lisbon climbed to sixth place with 10 points, boosting their qualification hopes.
