With the game heading towards a draw, substitute Federico Chiesa – still linked with a potential summer exit – made an instant impact, firing home in the 88th minute. Mohamed Salah then sealed the victory deep into stoppage time, marking his 10th goal in opening-weekend fixtures – a Premier League record.
Salah has now contributed to 15 goals (10 scored, 5 assisted) in opening-day matches since joining the league, underlining his status as one of its greatest performers.
