Night 2 of WWE SummerSlam 2025 delivered everything fans could ask for. From emotional tributes and callbacks to shocking moments that left the WWE Universe buzzing, the second night of this two-part spectacle carved its own legacy—albeit not without a cloud of debate overshadowing its finale.
The show opened on a high note with a thrilling Triple Threat Match for the Women’s World Championship, as Naomi defended her title against Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky. All three women brought intensity, creating a cool and fast-paced opener that set the tone for the night.
Naomi retained her title in a hard-fought victory that earned cheers across the arena.
Momentum carried over into the chaotic Six-Pack TLC Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship, where The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy) retained their titles in brutal fashion.
The energy inside the arena peaked when the cameras cut to the crowd and revealed The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz in attendance—on the 25th anniversary of their legendary SummerSlam TLC showdown with Edge & Christian back in 2000.
Their presence added emotional weight to the match, which was fast-paced, chaotic, and full of daring spots.
Nathan Frazer paid tribute to that iconic match, attempting to recreate Edge's legendary mid-air spear, but Tommaso Ciampa hilariously dodged it, providing a moment of levity in an otherwise violent contest.
In what many fans are calling one of the best matches of both nights, Becky Lynch successfully defended her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lyra Valkyria in a No DQ, No Countout Last Chance Match.
The storytelling, emotion, and sheer physicality made this bout a must-watch. With her win, Becky ends Valkyria’s title aspirations for as long as she remains champion. Both women left everything in the ring, earning a standing ovation.
Unfortunately, not everything lived up to expectations. The Steel Cage match between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu fell flat.
Poor execution and lack of intensity made the match feel underwhelming despite the high stakes of the United States Championship.
The Dominik Mysterio vs. AJ Styles match carried a tribute to the famous 2005 Custody Ladder match between Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero.
The main event—Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship—was everything a SummerSlam main event should be.
In stark contrast to their WrestleMania encounter, this Street Fight was gritty, emotional, and fiercely competitive.
Surprisingly, Cody and Cena displayed excellent chemistry, delivering top-tier storytelling and a passionate performance that brought the crowd to its feet. Cody’s victory felt earned, capping off the night with fire... or so it seemed.
In a jaw-dropping post-match moment, Brock Lesnar—“Mr. SummerSlam” himself—made his return, storming the ring and delivering a devastating F5 to John Cena in a nod to their iconic rivalry.
While the moment was electric, it quickly became the most polarizing part of the night due to Lesnar’s ongoing legal situation related to the Vince McMahon-Janel Grant scandal.
The WWE Universe erupted—not in cheers, but in debate. Social media exploded with questions: Is it right to bring Lesnar back now? Is he guilty or innocent? Should WWE even allow this return?
The controversy surrounding Lesnar’s appearance overshadowed the night’s exceptional main event, creating a cloud over what had been a near-perfect closing chapter.
Finally, Summer Slam night 2 was better than the first one. Actually, fans didn't want to remember the first night except for the main event and Rollins' cash-in.
