The first night of WWE SummerSlam delivered funny moments and a historical twist.

The night was kicked off by Roman Reigns and Jey Uso against Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker.

The match was a physical spectacle, with each team looking to establish dominance. However, Reigns and Uso did a nice harmonious job to get the win.

There were a few nice spots by the four superstars; however, there was a lack of storytelling.

After that, there was another tag team match, but this time it was a women's match. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair continued their enjoyable teamwork and defeated Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez to become the new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions.

Next came the first single men's match in the card. Sami Zayn faced Karrion Cross in their third match. The game was good but short, and the ending of the match raised a lot of questions about Kross' future in WWE.

The Women's Championship match was another good but short contest, as Tiffany Stratton faced off against the undefeated powerhouse Jade Cargill. The two women fought tooth-and-nail, with both showing their athleticism and grit.

In the end, it was the reigning champion, Stratton, who successfully retained her title after a spectacular finish.

After that came one of the worst matches ever in the history of Summer Slam, the tag team match between Jelly Roll and Randy Orton against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre. Paul carried the majority of the game's hard work and risky spots.

Finally, the night was main evented by the historic clash for the World Heavyweight Championship between the reigning champion, Gunther, and the challenger, CM Punk. The storytelling of the match and the performance of Punk were the core of a long night debate between fans.

CM Punk pulled off the unexpected and defeated Gunther to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. The match was strong and more into pro wrestling technqiues.

Just as CM Punk celebrated his hard-fought victory, the arena was hit by a shocking turn of events. Seth Rollins, the architect, the visionary, and 2025 Mr. Money in the Bank, made his way down to the ring, carrying his Money in the Bank briefcase. With the crowd buzzing, Rollins showed no hesitation and cashed in his contract.

The stealthy heist was reminiscent of Rollins’ infamous Money in the Bank cash-in from 10 years ago, and once again, he pulled off a brilliant move.

Rollins swiftly pinned CM Punk after a series of high-impact maneuvers to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

The audience was stunned, as Rollins stole the title right from under Punk's nose in a move that many are already calling the "Ruse of the century." They recalled Rollins' 2015 "Heist of the Century."

Rollins' cashing in was the trend of the global wrestling scene, as this action was called back when Punk cashed his Money in the Bank briefcase against Jeff Hardy in 2009. Punk cashed the briefcase after a short-lived victory of Hardy with the World Heavyweight title.

Matt Hardy reacted to the news on his X account, in addition, McIntyre reacted, saying "Karma is real."

On the other hand, AEW fans celebrated the victory of Rollins over Punk due to the incidents he had before departing the promotion and returning to WWE.
