Qatar's Doha will host today, Tuesday, the FIFA 2025 THE BEST Awards ceremony.
This comes 24 hours before the kickoff of the final match of the Intercontinental Club Cup, which will bring together France’s Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil’s Flamengo at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.
Observers expect French club Paris Saint-Germain to dominate most of FIFA’s THE BEST awards, following the exceptional season delivered by the Paris-based club.
PSG won the French League, Coupe de France, French Super Cup, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Super Cup, and finished runners-up in the FIFA Club World Cup held this year in the United States of America.
During the ceremony, the identities of the best male and female players, coaches, and female coaches of 2025 will be revealed.
The event will also announce the most outstanding fans, the best male and female goalkeepers, and the most beautiful goals through digital videos on FIFA platforms and social media. In addition, the winner of the Fair Play Award will be announced.
The shortlist of nominees for the 2025 THE BEST Men’s Award includes: Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé, Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, England’s Harry Kane, Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, Portuguese Nuno Mendes, England’s Cole Palmer, Spaniard Pedri, Brazilian Raphinha, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Portuguese Vitinha, and Spaniard Lamine Yamal.
Ousmane Dembélé is considered the frontrunner to win the award and continue his reign at the top of world football, after winning the 2025 Ballon d’Or, awarded annually to the world’s best player by the French magazine France Football.
Dembélé claimed football’s most prestigious individual award after playing a pivotal role in Paris Saint-Germain’s historic successes last season, contributing to the club winning five trophies: the French League, Coupe de France, French Super Cup, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Super Cup.
PSG also finished runners-up in the FIFA Club World Cup held this summer in the United States. Dembélé was also named Best Player in the French League and Best Player in the UEFA Champions League.
