Benfica 6–0 Auckland City

Benfica thrashed Auckland City in Group C, sealing their first win of the tournament and eliminating the Oceania champions. 

After a Del María penalty just before half-time, Benfica exploded in the second half, as Vangelis Pavlidis, Renato Sanches, and Leandro Barreiro among the scorers, to complete a comprehensive win.

Auckland’s hopes evaporated with this defeat. They are officially the first team to be eliminated from the tournament.

History in the making.

Haris Zeb becomes the first player of Pakistani origin to feature in a major FIFA tournament, representing Auckland City FC against S.L. Benfica at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Flamengo 3–1 Chelsea

In a memorable clash in Group D, Chelsea surged ahead early through Pedro Neto, but then imploded after Nicolas Jackson was sent off shortly after coming on. 

Flamengo took over, with Bruno Henrique and Danilo turning the score 2–1, before young sub Wallace Yan sealed a dominant Brazilian statement over their English opposition.

This victory confirmed Flamengo as the first team from any continent to qualify for the knockout stages, showcasing the power of South American clubs.

ES Tunis 1–0 LAFC

The North African side delivered a historic result, marking the first Arab team victory and second-ever African win of the tournament. A solitary strike by Youcef Belaili secured the win. 

LAFC were eliminated by this result, while Espérance kept their knockout hopes alive.

Bayern Munich 2–1 Boca Juniors

In Group C, Bayern restored European pride with a 2–1 victory over Boca Juniors. Harry Kane opened the scoring early, Boca drew level through Miguel Merentiel, but Michael Olise’s late strike secured the win. 

This result earned Bayern their spot as the second team to advance to the knockouts, reaffirming UEFA’s strength against Latin American challengers.
