The fourth day of the tournament witnessed impressive action in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. 

The day delivered drama, intensity, and high-stakes moments as four crucial group stage matches were contested across the United States.

Here are the highlights and results from Day 4:

River Plate 3–1 Urawa Red Diamonds

Group E

Venue: Lumen Field, Seattle

Argentine giants River Plate claimed their first win of the tournament with a dominant 3–1 performance over Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds. 

River showcased their trademark attacking flair, with goals from Esequiel Barco, Miguel Borja, and Ignacio Fernández sealing the win.

Urawa fought back with a second-half goal from Shinzo Koroki, but it wasn’t enough to stop River from taking all three points.

Fluminense 0–0 Borussia Dortmund

Group F

Venue: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford

In a highly anticipated clash between Brazil and Germany, Fluminense and Borussia Dortmund played out a tactical 0–0 draw.

Both sides had chances, but goalkeepers Fábio and Gregor Kobel stood tall. Dortmund held more possession, while Fluminense relied on quick counter-attacks, but neither could find the breakthrough in a result that leaves Group F wide open.

Monterrey 1–1 Inter Milan

Group E

Venue: Rose Bowl Stadium, Los Angeles

Monterrey earned a valuable point in their clash with Inter Milan in one of the day's most intense matchups.

Inter took the lead through a smart finish from Lautaro Martínez, but Monterrey equalized late in the second half thanks to a powerful strike from Rogelio Funes Mori.

The match was a tight affair, with Sergio Ramos was named Man of the Match for his defensive leadership and crucial clearances, helping Monterrey secure the draw.

Mamelodi Sundowns 1–0 Ulsan Hyundai

Group F

Venue: Inter&Co Stadium, Orlando

South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Ulsan Hyundai of South Korea. 

A first-half goal by Peter Shalulile proved decisive in a match defined by physical duels and tight margins. The win puts Sundowns in a promising position in Group F as they chase a historic knockout stage appearance.

Sundowns became the first African team to capture a win the tournament. 

Mamelodi Sundowns edged Ulsan HD from South Korea 1-0 thanks to an Iqraam Rayners lone goal to produce Africa’s first win at the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup.
